ARRIVE VIENNA AREA /
LAKE NEUSIEDL
After arrival in Vienna we transfer to our hotel
along scenic Lake Neusiedl, south of Vienna – at
leisure before dinner (B)

| Day 03
|
LAKE NEUSIEDL / EISENSTADT
Today we start with a guided City Tour of Eisenstadt,
the town of composer Haydn – in the afternoon we
take a boat trip on Lake Neusiedl along with a horse
drawn carriage ride – we return to our hotel late
afternoon (B,D)

| Day 04
|
LAKE NEUSIEDL –
VIENNA – EMBARK MS AMADEUS CLASSIC
We leave in the morning and drive to Vienna where
we have a city tour with all the main sites along the
Ringstrasse and the Inner City with St.Stephen’s
Cathedral – then there is a bit of time at leisure
before we embark on the MS Amadeus Classic and depart
downstream – welcome cocktail and dinner as we
cruise past Bratislava into Hungary (B)

| Day 05
|
BUDAPEST
We arrive in the capital of Hungary after breakfast
– after docking right in the city center we will
get to know St.Mathew’s Church, Fishermen Bastion
and Hero’s Square during our city tour, on our
drive through the ‘Buda’ and ‘Pest’
sides of the city we will also see the great bridges
spanning the Danube, as well as the Parliament buildings
and many other beautiful Baroque monuments – enjoy
the rest of the day in the capital or join enjoy an afternoon-excursion
to the small village of Szentendre (O – 1: We start
from the Elizabeth Bridge, passing the old Roman settlement
‘Aquincum’ to the artists’ village
of Szentendre – after a walk through the village
we visit a museum of ceramics by a popular local artist,
Margit Kovacs – then we follow the Danube to the
castle ‘Visegrad’ from where you enjoy a
great view of the ‘Knee of the Danube’ before
returning to Budapest ) – the ship will leave Budapest
after dinner

| Day 06
|
BUDAPEST - KALOCSA
This morning we arrive in Southern Hungary and you
can either enjoy the provincial town famous for its arts
and crafts – or join us on our half day Puszta
Tour
( O – 2: After a drive across the Hungarian Plains
you will witness an unforgettable performance of Hungarian
horsemanship at a genuine ‘Csarda’, farm
– we then head to Kalocsa, which is famous for
its traditional embroidery and above all for the cultivation
of paprika, Hungary’s national product –
we will attend a short organ recital in the Cathedral,
visit a typical Hungarian house and the paprika museum,
the only one of its kind – we return to the ship
in time for lunch) – we continue downstream and
will be cruising along this afternoon

| Day 07
|
SOUTHERN HUNGARY - BELGRADE
After breakfast we arrive in the capital of Serbia
– from the Sava harbour our tours leaves to visit
the Kalemegdan castle with the Military Museem and Turkish
Bath – Terazije Square, the parliament and the
Palace of Prince Milos are all part of the tour as well
as the largest Orthodox church: St.Sava – then
we pass by the Konak, the former Royal Palace, the Bajrak
Mosque and some other remarkable sites before returning
to the shop for lunch – this afternoon is free
for additional personal sightseeing or to sit back in
one of the comfortable cafes in town – after dinner
aboard an evening excursion is available (O – 3:
Through the illuminated city you will drive to a mid
town hotel where you will enjoy a folklore performance
while wine is served – dancers and musicians in
colourful costumes present melodies and dances from all
parts of the country – lateron we visit the artist’s
area ‘Skadarlija’ where you will listen to
a local orchestra while Serbian specialties are being
catered ) the MS Amadeus Classic leaves town close to
midnight

| Day 08
|
IRON GATES
We cruise all day and will pass through the scenic
area called the ‘Iron Gates’ – the
Romans already tried to bypass this narrow gauge by building
a canal – enjoy the landscape and watch the river
flow… sit back with your binoculars and watch the
activities along the shores of the Danube while having
a cocktail or listening to the ship’s music group
in the afternoon

| Day 09
|
ROUSSE, BULGARIA
After cruising down the Danube, which forms the border
between Romania and Bulgaria in these parts, we dock
in Rousse in the morning – join us for our tour
to Veliko Tarnovo ( O – 4: A 90 min drive will
bring us to Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria’s former capital
– in medieval times the houses there were built
on steep rock terraces and during our city tour we will
be brought back a few centuries – after the included
lunch we visit the folklore village of Arbanassi , famous
for its painted churches and the artisans’ market
) – The Amadeus Classic will leave Rousse later
in the afternoon further downstream |
| Day 10
|
TULCEA, ROMANIA - DANUBE
DELTA
We dock in Tulcea this morning – join us for
a tour of the wild and natural Delta of the Danube River
( O – 5: The Danube Delta covers and area of 4340
square kilometers and reveals an unusual landscape with
Fauna and Flora, unique in Europe – there is an
incredible variety of bird life, with some 300 species
and also more than 110 species of fish – we will
be taken through the narrow channels of the Delta in
smaller boats, from which this very special habitat can
best be appreciated ) – in the afternoon we head
to the point where the Danube joins the Black Sea, at
St.George, before heading back upstream

| Day 11
|
TULCEA - OLTENITA
Today we will pass through areas which we cruised
through at night before – the rugged scenery of
the Danube and its tributaries will accompany us before
we dock at Oltenita late at night – this afternoon
we enjoy a farewell cocktail and our farewell dinner
aboard the MS Amadeus Classic |
| Day 12
|
OLTENITA – BUCHAREST
In the morning we disembark and head to the capital
of Romania, Bucharest – on our city tour we will
get to know the town which was called the Paris of the
East once – we will have lunch at a typical Romanian
restaurant – later we will check into our centrally
located hotel and this evening we will enjoy a typical
Romanian Folklore evening with songs and dances from
the country during dinner (L,D) |
| Day 13
|
BUCHAREST - BRASOV –
SINAIA – BUCHAREST
Today’s excursion will bring us to Brasov and
we visit nearby Bran Castle, of Dracula fame –
after lunch we take a short drive to Sinaia and visit
the monastery and Peles Castle, the former summer residence
of the Romanian Royalty – we return to Bucharest
in time for dinner – a busy day on which we will
experience some wonderful sites and get to learn about
the ways of how people live in the countryside (B,L,D) |
| Day 14
|
BUCHAREST
Today we continue with sightseeing of the capital
with the charming farm house museum before visiting the
former summer residence of the Romanian Royalty –
this afternoon there is also time to relax and enjoy
the city before we have our farewell dinner (B,L,D) |

BUCHAREST - CANADA
This morning we head to the airport of Bucharest
for our flight home where we arrive same day (B) |
