CANADA - SALZBURG
You board the transatlantic flight for Europe |
Day 02
|
ARRIVE SALZBURG
After arrival in Salzburg transfer to our hotel and
at leisure before dinner (D) |
Day 03
|
SALZBURG
City Tour with the main sites of Mozart's Birth town
- afternoon visit to Bad Ischl and visit at the Kaiservilla
( meet with Markus Habsburg ) - return to hotel for dinner(B,D) |
Day 04
|
SALZBURG - INNSBRUCK - SALZBURG
We drive to Tyrol and have a city tour of the capital
Innsbruck - along with the main sites we also see famous
Ski Jump etc and the Swarovski Crystal World - after a
bit of time in Innsbruck with its charming Inner City and
the Golden Roof we return to Salzburg (B,D) |
Day 05
|
SALZBURG - NUREMBERG - BERCHING
We travel to Nuremberg and have an orientation tour
of the beautiful walled city - in the late afternoon we
embark aboard the MS Amadeus Classic - we depart from Nuremberg
along the Main-Danube Canal ( one of the magnificent engineering
feats of this century ) - we dock overnight near Berching
(B,D) |
Day 06
|
BERCHING - KELHEIM - REGENSBURG
In the morning we travel down the Altmuehl Valley and
stop in Kelheim ( O-1: Side trip to Abbey Weltenburg and
Mindelstetten, the home of the blessed Anna Schaeffer )
- here the Main-Danube Canal joins the mighty Danube River
and the ship continues to Regensburg where we arrive later
in the afternoon - after dinner there is still time in
the city before we continue our journey downriver |
Day 07
|
PASSAU - LINZ
Morning arrival in Passau ( O-2: Guided walking tour
of Passau and Organ concert on the World's largest Organ
with 17774 pipes! in the beautiful Cathedral dedicated
to St. Stephan ) - the afternoon is at leisure in the town
located on 3 rivers ( Danube, Inn, Ilz ) and then we cruise
on in the late afternoon down the Danube River past Linz |
Day 08
|
MELK - DUERNSTEIN - HUNGARY
Early morning arrival in Melk ( O-3: Visit to Melk
with the monastery and its magnificent library and marble
hall - then we drive through the Wachau Valley to Duernstein
- where King Richard Lionheart was kept prisoner, on his
way home from his crusade to the Holy Land ) - we rejoin
the MS Amadeus in Duernstein - this afternoon and night
we cruise, bypassing Vienna |
Day 09
|
ESZTERGOM - BUDAPEST
Morning arrival in Eszertgom ( O-4: We tour the Cathedral
which is a small scale replica of St.Peter's in Rome, most
Hungarian Kings were crowned here and we also see Cardinal
Mindzenty's shrine - from the castle ruins of Visegrad
we have a fantastic view of the Danube "knee"
before visiting the picturesque village Szentendre - then
we rejoin the ship in Budapest ) - after lunch time in
Budapest we have a city tour (O-5: City Tour with the major
sites along the banks of the Danube in the "Buda"
and "Pest" districts, like the Fishermen's Bastion
and the Cathedral of St.Matthew as well as the Hero's Square)
- after dinner aboard the ship you still have a bit of
time at leisure before cruising back upstream |
Day 10
|
BRATISLAVA - VIENNA
After lunch we arrive in Bratislava ( O-6: City Tour
of the main sites of the capital of Slovakia, including
the Archepiscopal Palace and the National Theatre as well
as the castle, a walking tour through the pedestrian zone
and past St.Martin's Cathedral and the Town Hall bring
you back to the ship ) - enjoy the afternoon strolling
through the historic part of town - this evening we have
our farewell dinner aboard as the ship leaves for Vienna |
Day 11
|
VIENNA
Morning arrival and we say good-bye to the MS Amadeus
Classic - we have a brief orientation tour of the City
and then there is some time for shopping and explorations
of your own before we check into our hotel and have dinner
(D) |
Day 12
|
VIENNA
This morning we visit the church of Maria am Gestade
with its Museum ( Klemens Maria Hofbauer and Franz Tendler
) - then we enjoy lavish Schoenbrunn Palace and there is
a little bit of time at leisure also before dinner this
evening (B,D) |
Day 13
|
VIENNA - CANADA
Today we transfer to the airport for our flight home
(B) |
