Departure for Germany

ARRIVE MUNICH – INNSBRUCK AREA /TYROL
After arrival we drive to the Innsbruck area (village of Stans) – check in and time before dinner (D)

TYROL
In the morning we head to the capital, Innsbruck and have a City Tour including the important sites like the Golden Roof in the Old Town and then some time at leisure – in the afternoon we will visit the Museum of Tyrolean culture and history in the historic Zeughaus, an old weapons depot of Emperor Maximilian – we return in time for dinner (B,D)

TYROL
First we explore the village of Rattenberg with the crafts museum in the "Nagelschmiedhauser" from the 12th century. After lunch back at the hotel we head for the funicular in the Alpbach Valley and take it up to the Wiedersberger Horn, known for having one of the best views in all of Tyrol – afterwards we visit Alpbach, a village which has won "most beautiful village" awards numerous times (B,L,D)

TYROL
Today we take the steam boat from Achenkirchen to Pertisau on Lake Achensee – after lunch (included) we will take the steam locomotive from Seespitz to Jenbach before returning to our hotel Today we visit a typical farm house in Stans – we will get an insight into the traditional life styles of the farmers in the Alps and we get to try the local “Speck” ( smoked bacon ) and “Schnaps” – in the evening we enjoy a typical Tyrolean Folk Evening with music and songs from the Alps (B,L,D)

TYROL
An all day excursion brings us to Salzburg, the city of Mozart – we visit his birth house and many of the wonderful sites of the town famous for its music tradition – you will also have time on your own before we return to Tyrol, passing through the scenic areas around Kitzbuehel (B, D)

TYROL – BOLZANO – LAKE GARDA
After crossing into Italy we stop in Vipiteno, a charming small town for our first Cappuccino – then we drive through the Val de Sole, famous for its apple production – a scenic drive will bring us to Lake Garda, where we visit Riva, the town on the north end of the lake – we check into our hotel later in the afternoon (B,D)

LAKE GARDA
Today we visit the south end of Lake Garda with the villages of Lazise and Sirmione, both fortified towns – after lunch and time at leisure a boat trip will bring us back to the east shore and we return to our hotel – enjoy a stroll along the lake before dinner (B,D)

LAKE GARDA
We take the short drive to Verona, the beautiful town on the Adige river – we see the historic center with Juliet’s balcony, made famous by Shakespeare’s tales – after time on your own for lunch we return to our ‘home base’ and have a little rest and an early dinner – then we return to Verona for an experience of a life time as we see an Opera under the stars in the ancient Arena di Verona ( depending on schedule it might be AIDA or CARMEN ) – we return home late at night (B,D)

LAKE GARDA – PADOVA – MONTEGROTTO TERME/ABANO
After getting in late the night before we take it easier today and take off before lunch time to Padova, the town of St.Anthony for a brief visit before continuing the short distance to the Abano area, famous for its health springs – we check into our hotel and there is time to enjoy the mineral waters of the hotel pool before dinner (B,D)

MONTEGROTTO TERME
Back to the mountains today for a look at some unique villages – the town of Marostica, with a picturesque medieval square – then on the other side of the Monte Grappa ( who doesn’t know the Italian answer to Whiskey !! – Grappa is made of grapes of course ) we stop in Feltre, another medieval village before we return to Abano in time for dinner (B,D)

MONTEGROTTO TERME
A short drive will bring us to Venice – a town like no other and we enjoy the narrow streets, the Piazza San Marco and sights like the Bridge of Sighs and the Campanile – shop for some famous Venetian glass before returning to Abano (B,D)

MONTEGROTTO TERME – VENICE – CANADA
Departure by bus to the airport of Venice – and flight back home where you arrive the same day (B)
